The success of Squid Game's first Netflix series, Hoyeon, a South Korean actor and model received international recognition. As a result of her breakthrough performance on the show Hoyeon took home the Screen Actors Guild award for Best Performance by a Female Actress in an Drama Series and earned an Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in the Drama Series. Hoyeon is from Myeonmok-dong (a suburb located in Seoul) started her professional career as an independent model in Seoul Fashion Week 2011. She took part in the 4th season of Korea's Next Top Model and placed in the top tier. She got her big international break after she signed an exclusive contract worldwide in partnership with Louis Vuitton. Fendi, Marc Jacobs and Miu Miu are among the brands that have featured her in campaigns.
